Logistics Planner/ Pricing Executive
Job Purpose
The Logistics Planner creates custom logistics solutions for clients based on their business needs, pricing them accordingly. This role involves understanding client requirements, planning efficient logistics, and ensuring cost-effectiveness for a streamlined supply chain. The goal is to meet client expectations and build lasting relationships through strategic planning while mantaining the profitability targets.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that the company’s services are planned as per our commercial strategy
- Identify commercial opportunities and capitalize on these opportunities by consulting and selecting the most suitable supplier for the service being rendered
- Meet targets in order to maximize profits while still ensuring service quality
Duties
- Regularly meet and evaluate active suppliers for updates on rates and new services
- Act as a liaison between MTS Logistics and suppliers, representing their interests post-onboarding.
- Collaborate with the commercial team to align with company sales efforts.
- Develop cargo flow designs based on client specifications and requirements.
- Conduct negotiations for company buying rates and facilitate new supplier registration.
- Negotiate company selling rates and issue client quotations.
- Stay informed about market developments and provide timely updates to the company.
- Respond to RFQs within assigned due dates/SLAs for new and existing clients.
- Maintain an updated supplier price list, ensuring competitive prices while maintaining high service quality.
- Collaborate effectively across different functions for process efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Understand, utilize, and optimize various available pricing tools.
- Evaluate pricing data from diverse sources for reference, strategy generation, and predicting trends.
- Provide relevant planning activity information to operation staff for efficient planning.
- Design logistics solutions aligning with internal functions as per client requirements.
- Develop relationships with existing and new suppliers to better meet client needs.
- Support other functions (relationship management and account management) through client negotiations.
- Adhere to the management controls and reporting system.
- Promote company capabilities and technological advantages to widen the client base.
- Constantly update the costing database and client rates, making adjustments based on standards and market rates
- Strive to decrease quoting time on rate requests for enhanced client satisfaction.
- Implement management-set improvement plans to increase profitability.
- Stay updated on suppliers’ prices and competitor quotes.
- Negotiate annual price increases with suppliers and apply them to client agreements.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in business or a related field
- 3-5 Years of Experience in logistics feild
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Attention to details
- Strong understanding of pricing strategies and concepts
- Proficient in English and Arabic
